The Male Room Challenge #131 - Team Colors - Guest Designer MFT Slider Card

The Male Room Challenge #131 - Team Colors - Guest Designer MFT Slider Card

I am having the most fun this month!!! I am excited to be joining The Male Room Challenge as guest designer where my Go Wild card was chosen to be the winning card.  The theme for The Male Room Challenge is Team Colors.  To those of you who don't know me, I am from Canada.  We have one NBA (National Basketball Team), the Toronto Raptors.  And they won the NBA championship in 2019!!! My card is inspired by their team colors:)  And huge thanks to my very sweet friend Just Me: c for loaning me your MFT All Star High Top dies and  MFT Be Original stamps!  I couldn't have done this without you! Can you guess that it is a slider card! (demo below)

Make sure you drop by The Male Room Challenge and check out the fantastic teams inspiration.

Tip: I used a dental floss threader to get the crochet thread, size 10, through those crazy little holes for the shoe laces.

I just had to make this card for 2 sweet kids, my niece and nephew. But I imagine they have a bit of a bias for Nike because their Dad works for Nike.  So I "Nikeified" it!
Who is your favorite team? I just know you will come up with a wonderful card to enter in The Male Room Challenge using their colors!

And thank you to the Male Room Challenge for sharing this opportunity to guest with you!

Colored Cardstock versus Comic Markers with Altenew Rose Flurries 3D Die Set

I made 2 cards with the Altenew Rose Flurries 3D Die Set , one using colored cardstock and one using copic markers to color white cardstock. These cards are inspired by the Altenew November 2019 Inspiration Challenge. For my first card I pulled out all my miscellaneous colored cardstock that matched the inspiration challenge colors.  I was short a couple of colors so I blended some ink onto my darkest color to deepen the color for the last layer to die cut. I die cut all my layers, but this is where I ran into a few problems. I had mixed up wrong colors for some of the layers of the flowers.  (I was curious to try a different method so that prompted the second card.) Once I had re-die cut the missing layers I glued all my pieces together and glued them onto a cream color A2 sized card and stamped my sentiment which is from the Altenew Build a Flower Sakura Blossom  stamp set.     For my second card I use the layering guide provided by Altenew and organized all the

Just Us Girls Challenge #521 - Word Week - Bow - Guest Designer

I am super thrilled to be a guest designer at  the Just Us Girls Challenge #521 where the word week theme is "bow".  To avoid having to tie a bow I had to pull out an old Whipper Snapper Designs stamp called Birthday Angel to find a bow (or 2). In saying that I may be telling me age, lol, given how old that stamp is.   Please make sure to check out all the wonderful cards the JUGS team made: Carol, Sue , Angie, Vickie, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria, and Cécile . And please drop by the Just Us Girls Challenge #521  and enter your "bow" card!   I look forward to being back at JUGS again next week!  As a teaser, my card will include watercoloring and an Altenew stamp set.    Thank you for stopping by! Gerda Steiner Go Wild and Party Animals Shadow Box Card

I can't tell you how much fun I am having pulling out stamp sets I have had for a while including Gerda Steiner's Go Wild and Party Animals stamps. Look at those adorable eyes on all those cute critters! I thought, "they need to all be loaded on one card for maximum cuteness impact" (it ended up to be most but not quite all of the images). Here is what I came up with.   I am joining a few challenges with this card including: Gerda Steiner Share Your Design Challenge , Inkspirational Challenges , Just Us Girls Challenge , and The Male Room Challenge . In case you want to make a similar card here is what I did (instructions then photo to follow): 1. Cut 2 pieces of white 80 lb. cardstock 4 1/2 by 9 inches. 2. Score each at 1/2 and 4 inches on the 4 1/2 inch width. 3. Cut or die cut a 2 7/8 by 6 /12 inch window, 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of one panel.  4. Fold at the scored lines. 5. Cut light blue cardstock 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. 6. Score at 1/
